Last weekend I Journeyed over to Eagle Pass TX, to see the crisis on the border for myself.

What I saw was relatively surprising.

Eagle Pass Border

At the front, the border was locked tight. Border Patrol had the situation wrapped in a tight bow, courtesy of Abbott. Barbed wire was still there; The bridge where many phony reporters and self centered YouTubers filmed at was closed off. At the time I was there, there were no migrants in sight. No camps, no groups.

I spoke with a young man, I’ll call him Griffin. Griffin is from Mexico. A barber in Piedras Negras, works various construction jobs in Eagle Pass. He comes in and out for work on the daily.

He has a green card, yet he told me he still felt relatively unsafe here. He said he’d been asked multiple times if he was an illegal. An unfortunate crude security result of the governments complacency (love you BOB).

We walked over to the left side of the bridge, by the golf course. To my surprise, the fencing was unguarded. This was the easiest place to cross undetected if you made it past the barbed wire on the fence, and yet there was nobody there to guard it. All you would have needed to do it hop the fence and you’re home free. Though I will say, you’re only allowed in if you were golfing, so perhaps I should sign up for that next time.

God then decided to put and end to our adventure with sheets of hot rain.

Griffin and I then make it over to a tunnel bridge where he tells me this is where all the migrants stayed. A nice spot, good cover. Two ladies thought we were migrants and pointed at us. That was interesting.
Griffin and I part ways and of course my phone dies.

Goblin In Mexico

I make my way to a family dollar, and outside is a homeless veteran that we’ll call him Han. Hard ass looking Mexican dude. Built like a burlap sack with muscles and a heart of Gold. I bought him swisher sweets and we spoke for the next hour of course I had the grand idea to go to Mexico with him. He agreed.

Getting into Mexico was easy. I expected a 30 minute inspection given then hype and constant fear mongering around the situation. I put my bag on the X Ray machine and walked through the metal detector. My belt sets it off, but to my surprise I wasn’t searched, and let right through. What if I had a firearm? Not their problem.

Han shows me around Piedras Negras, the Black Foot. A nice little Mexican town across the border. This place is exactly what I think of when I think Mexico. Classic Spanish music fills the air, homies are selling tacos out of their trucks. It’s Mexican Times Square.

I slept on a park bench and met a man we’ll call Capone. Capone tells me some illegal groups are walking from Central America because their economy is so bad they only make $3 a day and cannot afford to save up to do it the legal way. I went down to the end to get a look at possible illegals coming over in the water. There was nothing, just remnants; trash, mattresses, and cardboard boxes. This side of the border was interesting to say the least. As you went down the left side of the bridge, the security went from walls to armed military. As expected they searched us and asked for ID at the checkpoint.

They released us after an hour and I head back to the US. The border opens at 7AM, with it the US Patrol boats, looking for the illegals.

Getting back out was easier than getting in. I came back over after paying the 50 pesos, gave my ID, told her my birth place and year I was born, and went back to the US. Granted, I’m a white guy, I don’t look suspicious so there is a good chance that had a part to play here.

The illegals are all shipped to different states across the US. California, Arizona, and New York being among the most prominent. It is good to see Texas is locking in to protect their citizens, however the rest of the United States needs to take ethics out of the question, and seal the deal with the situation. America needs to come first.
